Patricia Quinn Saved My Life
“Well, if Jerry Springer can have an opera named after him, I don’t see why I can’t have a play” – Patricia Quinn

[A BIT] ABOUT …
“I wrote Patricia Quinn Saved My Life because I was (and still am) a huge fan of Rocky Horror. My favourite character is, of course, Magenta. Locked away in Carr Towers are photos of me dressed up as Magenta, going to see Rocky Horror live. I have the hair for it. (Well, if you’re going to do something you may as well do it right. And any excuse for fancy dress!)
In all honesty, I never imagined that PQSML would ever see the light of day. I wrote it for fun. A script that made me laugh; a play that I would want to see.
So imagine my surprise (and utter delight) when a call came from the 5065 Lift that they wanted to include it in their Edinburgh line-up.

Now, if you can, imagine my utter falling-in-a-dead-faint-on-the-floor surprise and gob smacked delight when a second call came – this one saying that Patricia Quinn herself had agreed to guest star for three special performances.
The Patricia Quinn. Lady Patricia Stephens, no less.
Actually, you can’t imagine it so don’t even try. I still can’t quite believe it myself!
Once up in Edinburgh, I had the honour of meeting Pat and spending a great deal of time with her. She is a wonderful woman; funny and generous, a true one-off with a story for every occasion and time for all of her (many) fans. I will be forever grateful to her for getting involved with the production, for the support she gave it and the time she spent publicising the show.” [- Alison]
